Precision Medicine Informatics

Description: Working on the world’s largest precision medicine trials funded by a Government client.

Essex Role:

Computational biology, system design and engineering, and management

  • Support a Government clients understanding of genomic variation and potential response to drugs
  • Facilitate loading of patient data securely and accurately from outside resources
  • Develop and apply rules to determine patient assignment is consistent with the protocol
  • Development and the deployment of the databases supporting the system interfaces
  • Design and development of user interfaces

Results:

  • 7000 adult patients screened, 1000 pediatric patients screened
  • Defined and developed a framework for future Precision Medicine trials
  • System for review and processing of patient data
  • Automated evaluation of variants for treatment arms and qualification of eligible patients
